Info | Richard Mack, former Sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, was the first sheriff in the country to file a lawsuit against the Clinton administration to stop the gun control associated with the Brady Bill. Mack’s case went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court where we won a landmark decision on the issue of states’ rights and local independence. Mack’s case proved once and for all that the federal government is not our boss and cannot compel the states to comply with federal mandates.
Mack is an Arizonan by birth and now a Texan by choice. He spent 20 years in law enforcement and the past 17 years as an activist and crusader for freedom. He has appeared at over 120 Tea Party rallies all across America and has authored five books regarding states’ rights, the oath of office, and constitutional liberty.
Mack received a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies-Spanish and Sociology from Brigham Young University. Mack spent 11 years with the Provo, Utah Police Department and then moved back to Arizona to run for Graham County Sheriff in 1988. While serving as sheriff, he received an invitation to attend the FBI National Academy and graduated in 1992. In 1994, he was named Elected Official of the Year by the Arizona-New Mexico Coalition of Counties and was inducted into the NRA Hall of Fame, being named NRA Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. In that same year, Gun Owners of America awarded him the defender of the Second Amendment Award. In 1997, he received the Samuel Adams award from the Local Sovereignty Coalition. In 2010, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Oath Keepers.
Sheriff Mack has appeared on Good Morning America, Crossfire, Nightline, Court TV, CNN, Univision, Telemundo, MSNBC, and FreedomWatch with Judge Napolitano.
Sheriff Mack has stood against tyranny and has dedicated his life to the principles of state sovereignty as defined by the Constitution of the United States. He knows that the reason America is in such peril today is because she has strayed far away from the path of liberty as established by our founding fathers and the U.S. Constitution. He has a proven record in standing for freedom and will, without question as U.S. Congressman, put Texas first.
