Info | I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I started my business career in sales and marketing of business machine office equipment (now known as laptops). I sold one of the first generation fax machines. I have several years experience managing facilities and human resources for a Minneapolis-based film and video production company. I have been married for 21 years. Ten years ago I chose to leave my career to manage and care for my family, which includes two daughters and 2 dogs. As my children are now both attending college, I have decided to dedicate my life to public service and the State of Minnesota.
My volunteer career started while in college. I began a passion for philanthropic work as a Delta Gamma at the U of M. I later served as the Delta Gamma Minneapolis/St. Paul Alumni President. Our fundraising efforts funded sight conservation projects and local scholarships. I began my public service career as a volunteer for the Wayzata Legislative Action Committee. I started with the committee in 2000 and left in 2006 when my family moved to Ohio. During this time I served a term as the committee's co-chair. I moved back to Medina in 2008 and have been on the committee to date. I have helped formulate multiple platforms that have all received School Board approval. I have crafted strategies to work with local elected officials to mark action on these positions. I have met personally with these officials and have attended several Education Finance Committee hearings in both the House and Senate. I was responsible for communicating our committee's positions to the community and developed a citizen's advocacy handbook to encourage community advocates as well. I have organized two local state candidate forums, and I have moderated a local school board candidate forum. I was always involved in the school's PTA, and helped on several VOTE YES campaigns, which were viable due to our committee's advocacy efforts.
