Info | Mike grew up on farm just outside of Springville, New York and was taught the importance of responsibility, concern for others, and hard work at an early age. Hailing from a tight-knit family, his parents, Larry and Karen Amodeo, and five siblings helped shape Mike’s worldview and had a huge impact on the person he is today. Some of the life lessons Mike learned from his folks include realizing that fullness of life and real success comes from selflessness, and one should always prioritize family and community over personal gain.
Mike’s ambition to serve others goes beyond the influence of his mother and father, as his uncle and godfather, Rev. David Kirsch, selflessly donated his life to serving God and his parishioners. Rev. Kirsch was also a major inspiration in Mike’s upbringing, demonstrating that community service should always come before material distractions. Mike carries these lessons with him every day and believes such civic-mindedness is sorely needed in modern day society.
After graduating from the Springville Griffith-Institute, where he excelled both academically and athletically, including leading the school’s football team to a New York State championship, Mike continued his studies and athletic career at HobartCollege. A four-year starter on the football team and national honor society student in economics and political science, Mike helped captain Hobart to their first ever NCAA tournament appearance his senior year. Upon receiving his bachelor’s degree, Mike went on to attend the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he concentrated on financial transactions.
Following admission to the New YorkState bar, Mike began his private sector legal career as a business lawyer with Getman & Biryla, LLP. Mike’s area of expertise covered the counseling of business entities through related disputes, the creation of start-up companies, and growth opportunity advisement. Beginning in 2008, Mike moved to one of Buffalo’s most prestigious law firms, Damon Morey, LLP, where he continues to represent business entities throughout every stage of civil litigation.
Mike is proudly married to his wife Holly (Ehlers), and the couple enjoys raising their 3 year-old son, Carter, at their home in Hamburg. Mike is very active in his community where he is a member of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the Hamburg Sunrise Rotary and the Hamburg Gun Club. He also finds time to volunteer his professional services to the Buffalo Volunteers Lawyer Project, which assists indigent clients with legal problems.
