| Info | It is my position that Agua Fria Union High School District #216, deserves to have committed leadership and advocacy for our young people; someone willing to improve public education with a desire to serve the community and provide support to the district. By ensuring that the resources are adequate and aligned to meet established goals, excellence will be encouraged throughout the district.
As a school board member, I understand the decisions the board makes will affect our young people, their parents, livelihood of district employees and the economic well-being of our community. I am prepared to give the required time, energy, and I am willing to learn about issues affecting our district. I am committed to providing the best and most appropriate education opportunities for all young people entrusted to our care. I am willing to work collaboratively to establish strategic goals to move the district toward the community’s vision for its high schools.
I reside within the legal boundaries of the school district and have been a resident since 2001, bringing a broad base of knowledge and experience to the position. I am a retired Educator with a Master Degree in Education Leadership with extensive experience in finance and budgeting. I’ve taught in public school, been adjunct faculty, and a community college career advisor. I am active in the community, serving on several city government committees, and community college advisory boards.
After serving 9 years as a community college trustee, I understand the board’s role and responsibility and that no single individual has authority over school matters. As a board member, I can express an opinion, accept the will of the majority and, support decisions made by the board. I have the ability and courage to make difficult decisions, defend the philosophy and goals of the district. I have a cooperative spirit, can communicate well with others and ask for your vote, so that I may be of service.
