Info | My name is Paul Boyd, and I am a lifelong Memphian. I grew up in Whitehaven and attended Bishop Byrne HS, then attended the University of Tennessee. Both my parents were born and raised in rural segregated Mississippi in the 40s and 50s. My mother was a public school math teacher for several decades and my father was on the grounds crew for Northwest Airlines. They instilled in me a strong work ethic and the value of friends and neighbors coming together to make our community a better place.
In response to those teachings, I have been involved with politics and public service for nearly a decade. I have 3 years of previous experience with Shelby County working for the Trustee’s office under the late Bob Patterson, and later working for the Election Commission. Before I started this campaign full time I worked for the federal government as a Supervisor for one of the local US Census Bureau offices. With the twelve people I supervised in office and the seventeen Recruiting Assistants we had out in the field, we were able to recruit well over 10,000 potential employees for local census jobs.
On top of these positions I have worked on dozens of campaigns in the last 10 years. From federal, to state, to local, legislative, judicial and executive, I am very proud of my involvement in both the political and governing process. These campaigns have taken me across our state as well as Mississippi and Utah.
