InfoMichael has dedicated his life to public safety serving for 13 years as a Prince George’s County police officer. Dawson, during his tenure, also served on the Criminal Investigation Division’s Sex Offender Unit. He worked for one year at the Department of Corrections in Anne Arundel County as a Background Investigator. Over the course of Michael’s distinguished career in public safety he has been honored with 16 Letters of Commendation, 4 Unit Citations, 3 Good Conduct Awards, and 2 Chief Awards. He also received the Silver Medal of Valor for saving a family from a life threatening domestic violence incident as he and another officer were on patrol in Prince George’s County. Michael also knows how to manage and train employees as he was certified as a Fields Training Officer while working for the Prince George’s County Police Department where he trained many new recruits to enter the professional police force.

In addition to Dawson’s practical experience in public safety, he was also certified as a Life and Health Insurance Producer through the New York Life Insurance Company. He is currently a certified Private Investigator and was a licensed Real Estate Appraiser previously. In the community, Michael serves as the Political Director for the Cecil County Young Republicans and as the Vice President of the Beacon Point Homeowner’s Association in Perryville. He attended Prince George’s County Community College taking courses in law enforcement and public safety and is a graduate of Surrattsville High School located in Clinton, Md.

Dawson currently owns and operates Smiles-2-Go, his local teeth whitening business based out of Perryville. Michael and Cassie, his wife of five years, reside in Perryville with their two children, Luke and Olivia.
