| Info | Harold joined the Navy and saw the world. This around the world tour took him to Viet Nam for six months on the destroyer USS Manley. Harold was Leading Sonar Technician with 15 sonar technicians of various grades reporting to him. Harold was also the Leading Sonar Technician on the USS Strong and the USS Compton. The around the world cruise in 1966-1977 on the USS Manley was the highlight of his navy career.
Harold is a member of the Tin Can Sailors Association. Harold is also a member of the USS Manley DD-940 association and has been to five of their reunions. One of the reunions took them to visit the Norfolk Naval Base with a tour of the base as well as a tour of the USS Wisconsin at the naval museum in downtown Norfolk. In October 2001 the reunion was held outside of Washington DC. Many historic monuments were visited with a highlight of attending the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and the changing of the guard. A trip to the pentagon was also on the schedule and Harold had first hand look at the damage that was done after September 11th. Harold was elected secretary of the association and served a one year term. Harold is a member of the USS Compton DD-705 association also.
Harold is an avid letter writer to the newspapers with most of the letters regarding public policy issues. Harold has also had letters published in national magazines.
Harold is a Rutgers graduate who went to Rutgers on the GI Bill and was awarded a BS in Business Management. Harold has worked at RU for the past 13 years in telecommunications.
Harold and his wife Roslyn owned a telecommunications company for over ten years. They installed telephone systems, voice mail systems, call accounting systems and did cable installations and upgrades.
Harold was born and raised in New Brunswick. Harold has two sons Michael and Kyle from a previous marriage.
