InfoShannon Lee Grove (Maiden name Cain)

Shannon Grove was born and raised in Kern County.

After graduating from high school, Senator Grove served in the United States Army. While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany she witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Following her service to our nation, she established a staffing company with her sister-in-law called Continental Labor and Staffing Resources. Senator Grove currently serves as the CEO of this business that connects new employees to jobs in the area.

Prior to her election to the State Senate, Senator Grove was the first woman veteran elected to the California Legislature when she served the 34th Assembly District from 2010 to 2016.

Senator Grove was elected to represent the 16th Senate District in November 2018, which includes portions of Kern, Tulare, and San Bernardino counties. In January 2019, she was elected Leader of the Senate Republican Caucus and served in that capacity for two years.

Shannon Grove is a strong supporter of law enforcement, keeping our students in schools with ample support for safety, encouraging small businesses with fair, not punitive, regulation, and supporting critically important agriculture and energy production in the Central Valley. She resides in Bakersfield with her husband, Rick. They are parents of five children.

In the June and November 2022 elections Shannon Grove is seeking election to the newly-drawn 12th State Senate district which includes Fresno, Tulare, and Kern counties.
