Info | THOMAS, William David, a Representative from New York; born in Middle Granville, Washington County, N.Y., March 22, 1880; attended the grade and high schools; was graduated from the Albany College of Pharmacy, Albany, N.Y., in 1904; moved to Hoosick Falls, Rensselaer County, N.Y., in 1905 and was employed as a pharmacist, later engaging in the retail drug business; also interested in banking; served as town clerk 1917-1925; member of the State assembly in 1925 and 1926; served as treasurer of Rensselaer County 1927-1933; chairman of the Republican county committee 1927-1934; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-third Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of James S. Parker; reelected to the Seventy-fourth Congress and served from January 30, 1934, until his death in Washington, D.C., May 17, 1936; interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Hoosick Falls, N.Y.
