InfoDr. Dara O'Hagan is from Lurgan and is a graduate of both the University of Ulster and Queen's University.She completed a PhD in Politics at Queen's University in Belfast in 1998 and has worked for many years on economic equality and justice issues.

She is the Sinn F�in spokesperson on both the economy and equality and carries out a strenuous workload on top of her constituency work. During the Assembly Dr. O'Hagan was a member of the Assembly's influential Enterprise, Trade and Investment Committee with responsibility for overseeing economic development. A strong advocate of the benefits of an all-Ireland energy strategy, Dara holds the Sinn F�in brief on energy and is involved in developing policy on environmental and fuel poverty issues, the high cost of electricity and renewable energy sources.

Within the Assembly Dr. O'Hagan sat on the Committee of the Centre which shadows the Office of the First and Deputy First Ministers, was a member of the Assembly Commission with corporate responsibility for the running of the Assembly and the Stormont building and a member of the Standards and Privileges Committee - a watchdog body which deals with members' Code of Conduct and behaviour.
