Info | WILSON, John Henry, a Representative from Kentucky; born in Crab Orchard, Lincoln County, Ky., January 30, 1846; pursued preparatory studies; was graduated from Tusculum College, Greeneville, Tenn., in June 1870; studied law; was admitted to the bar in September 1871 and commenced practice in Barbourville, Knox County, Ky.; was also greatly interested in agricultural pursuits and the construction of the Dixie Highway; member of the State senate 1883-1887; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-first and Fifty-second Congresses (March 4, 1889-March 3, 1893); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1892 to the Fifty-third Congress; resumed the practice of his profession in Barbourville, Ky.; died in Louisville, Ky., January 14, 1923; interment in Barbourville Cemetery.
