Info | TALBOTT, Albert Gallatin, (uncle of William Clayton Anderson), a Representative from Kentucky; born near Paris, Bourbon County, Ky., April 4, 1808; moved with his parents to Clark County in 1813 and to Jessamine County in 1818; attended Forrest Hill Academy, Jessamine County, Ky.; studied law, but did not practice; engaged in agricultural pursuits and general trading in 1831; moved to Mercer County in 1838 and engaged in the real estate business; moved to Danville, Boyle County, Ky., in 1846; delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1849; member of the State house of representatives in 1850; elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-fourth and Thirty-fifth Congresses (March 4, 1855-March 3, 1859); chairman, Committee on Expenditures in the Post Office Department (Thirty-fifth Congress); resumed real estate pursuits; served in the State senate 1869-1873; again a member of the State house of representatives in 1883; moved to Pennsylvania and settled near Chestnut Hill, and engaged in agricultural pursuits; died in Philadelphia on September 9, 1887; interment in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, Ky.
