Info | COLEMAN, Nicholas Daniel, a Representative from Kentucky; born in Cynthiana, Ky., April 22, 1800; attended the grammar and high schools; was graduated from Transylvania College, Lexington, Ky.; studied law; was admitted to the bar and practiced; member of the State house of representatives in 1824 and 1825; elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress (March 4, 1829-March 3, 1831); moved to Vicksburg, Miss., where he resumed the practice of law; postmaster of Vicksburg 1841-1844; again resumed the practice of law; died in Vicksburg, Miss., on May 11, 1874; interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
