Info | MURRAY, William Francis, a Representative from Massachusetts; born in Boston, Mass., September 7, 1881; attended the public schools and the Boston Latin School; was graduated from Harvard University in 1904 and from Harvard Law School in 1906; practiced law in Boston; served during the Spanish-American War as a corporal in the United States Volunteer Signal Corps; member of Boston Common Council in 1904 and 1905; member of the State house of representatives in 1907 and 1908; member of the Governor’s council in 1910; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-second and Sixty-third Congresses; and served from March 4, 1911, until September 28, 1914, when he resigned, having been appointed postmaster; postmaster of Boston from October 1, 1914, until his death in that city on September 21, 1918; interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Chestnut Hill, Mass.
