Info | Bill Maske grew up in the small rural northwest Iowa town of Peterson. Bill’s parents, Bob and Dorothy Maske, were part of the generation that endured the Great Depression, fought World War II, and shaped post-war America. From his parents, Bill learned the values of family, faith, service, community, competition, hard work, and a love for his country.
Bill and his wife, Carole, are the parents of four grown children and the grandparents of five - with a sixth on the way. They are devoted to their family and cherish the times they can spend together.
Bill has been a lifelong Democrat and educator. His interest in politics and the Democratic Party began with the Presidency of John F. Kennedy. Bill’s first political activity involved being a high school activist for Robert Kennedy in 1968. Bill has remained active in politics and the Democratic Party as a campaign worker, city councilman, campaign chair, county chair, Local ISEA Officer, and community volunteer. Bill believes politics is an honorable profession which must remain focused on providing better government for those who need it most.
Bill has been a professional educator for the past thirty-four years. He began his educational career as a teacher, coach, and athletic coordinator at the American School in Tehran, Iran in 1975. For the past twenty-five years, Bill has served as an educational administrator, focused on educational improvement for all students. During this time, he has served the Nashua Community School, Belmond-Klemme Community School, and the Interstate 35 Community School within the 4th Congressional District.
Bill is stepping down as Superintendent of the Interstate 35 Community School District on January 25, 2010, so he can be devoted to seeking the 4 th District Congressional seat and bringing better government to the people of the 4th District, Iowa, and our great nation.
