Esquirol served in the state assembly in 1913 and 1928-1932 and in the state senate 1933-1943.
He was admitted to the bar in 1921.
He had been nominated for an additional term in 1942 but withdrew from the race. In June 1942, he was charged with professional misconduct [New York Times, 6/23/1942].
Esquirol was disbarred from 1943 to 1949 [NYT 2/22/1949]. He resumed legal work at that time but was disbarred again in 1955 for professional misconduct. [NYT 6/1/1955]
