InfoBrian Phillips was born in New Brunswick but has called Halifax home for 39 years. Along with his wife, Suzanne, they have lived in Spryfield for five years. Brian is a devoted family man, being the proud father of two grown married sons and a grandfather to his two grandchildren, with a third Phillips grandchild on the way. Brian joined the Canadian Army after high school and served three years in the armoured corps with two tank regiments stationed in Germany, the Fort Garry Horse and the Lord Strathcona Horse. After fulfilling his military commitment, Brian made a career out of broadcasting and started to work on his profession in Yarmouth with radio and television stints In Saint John, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and in the European island country of Malta.

Along with the stops to these locations, Brian has worked with CJCH radio in Halifax on three separate occasions. He has been back home since 1994 where he hosted "Hotline", the radio talk show serving him as an advocate for his listeners on all the issues of the day. Following this popular segment, he went back to morning hosting on CJCH until 2008. Over his broadcast career, Brian has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for many charities including Christmas Daddies, the IWK Children's Hospital and the Metro Food Bank, to name just a few. His energy is now focused on the re-election of the Progressive Conservative's and his running in his home constituency of Halifax Atlantic, where there is much work to be done. Road work in Williamswood, improvements to the Purcell's Cove sewer system and the development, implementation of a tourism plan to attract investors and tourists, and standing up for families who are facing multiple school closures in Halifax Atlantic. This is just a handful of the issues that Brian wants to raise during the election in the weeks ahead. Brian feels it would be a privilege to represent the community where he and Suzanne live. Brian wants to be the voice that represents the good people of Halifax Atlantic as their MLA in the Legislative Assembly.
