Legislative Activities

Ed serves on the legislature's Health and Human Services and Economic Development Committees. Among Ed's legislative agenda items, he is actively seeking to: reduce the taxpayer subsidization of Erie County Medical Center; more effectively use the bed tax to promote tourism and cultural assets; force New York State to reformulate how it grants STAR exemptions to better benefit Erie County residents; implement Charter Review changes demanded by voters, particularly performance-based budgeting; improve our libraries; improve roads, especially North Forest and Wehrle; implement Six Sigma tools and evaluation procedures; implement a real property tax stabilization reserve fund; lower the .75% sales tax through government efficiencies and attrition; and examine mergers, consolidations, shared services and inter-municipal agreements which would benefit the taxpayers of Erie County and the 15th Legislative District.
