InfoNow I step out from behind the lines. Up until now I have lived the life of a regular citizen. Up until now I have lived a life as normal as I could have lived. I have made many normal mistakes in life all of which I have learned from, all of which I walked away from a better and wiser man. In life I have walked in the shoes of many. I have felt their pain. I have struggled as they have struggled. As a child, I was the mentally challenged. I lived the life of a neglected and abused child in a family that barely had money for food. As an adult I have been the under educated. I have been the homeless. I have been the drug addict. I have been the sociably unaccepted. I have lived the life of a straight man in which I enjoyed the happiness of marriage, the heartache of divorce. I now live the life of a gay man. I have walked in the shoes of the Baptists, of the non-denominational, of the Mormons, of the Pagans, of the Wiccans, of the Jehovah's Witnesses, of the Catholics. I have seen our society through the eyes of science, through the eyes of psychology, through the eyes of a writer. To walk in the shoes of many is to experience their pain, their struggles. Understanding people's experiences brings the wisdom to help the people in the way each and every one of them needs to be helped.

In my opinion, a leader shall take his or her lead from the people he or she leads. Then he or she shall add wisdom, compassion, consideration, courage, accountability, love, and truth, as well as an understanding of humanity and human behavior without forgetting that one person, one leader can't make every person completely happy. He or she will always ensure that his or her personal feelings, thoughts, emotions, convictions, religious and non-religious beliefs will never cloud his or her leadership, judgment and or decisions.

I am 28 years old and I have decided that I am running for Mayor of Austin, Texas in 2009. People may wonder why, at such a young age, I am running for such a position with no previous political experience, so I will just be upfront and brutally honest with you. Most of the people in City Hall have so much money that they don’t have the problems of us regular citizens, and since they don’t have these problems they can’t understand what it would take to fix these problems, so instead, they spend all of their time trying to fix what is not broken. As Mayor, I will fight to fix the problems they ignore. First of all our educational system is being flushed down the toilet and is seriously underfunded. Our public transportation system is being severely neglected. Our homeless rate is sky rocketing more and more every year. Our mental health problems continue to increase. City Hall doesn’t realize that in order to solve the homeless problem you must tackle the issues that contribute to homelessness, such as the need to address the mental health problems within our city due to the fact that a portion of our homeless population also requires mental health assistance, as well as assisting those who have drug and alcohol addictions. Also, dedicating time and effort to improving our housing assistance within the city. Instead of focusing on the real issues at hand, City Hall continues to try to fix homelessness without fixing the issues that lead to homelessness, such as attempting to outlaw pan handling for the safety of the homeless population. This “out of sight, out of mind” mentality would only give the illusion that we have solved the homeless problem in Austin.

I have been known to say that I will not fight for this country for the way it is now, but I will fight for the pursuit of making this country the great nation it could be. I will fight for justice and humanity. In life or death I shall move this nation and you will see it transformed. I shall fight for my cause with my life and with my death and if you are not willing to die for your cause then pick up your sword and fight for mine. If you are not willing to fight for mine and my cause then lay down your sword and stand aside, for my cause shall prevail in my life and in my death. For history shows us when a great leader comes that is willing to die for his cause, a cause of justice and humanity, and he or she is slain for that cause, his or her followers shall rally behind that persons cause one-thousand fold and the cause shall come to pass. For justice and humanity shall prevail and in life I shall march on toward justice and humanity and in death I shall lead our nation to victory.
