Info | My parents were Italian immigrants who taught me the importance of family values and the meaning of hard work and sacrifice. I learned not to forget my family’s heritage—I’m still a member of the Marconi Club—but to be very proud to be Canadian.
Like many families, mine has been through difficult times. When my husband died in a car accident eight years ago, I was suddenly a single mum, struggling to provide for my two daughters and trying to give them as much love and support as I could.
Over the years, I supported my family by working in the mutual fund industry and it has brought me great pleasure to make investing more accessible to lower and middle-income families as I help them plan for the future.
The more I speak with the diverse people of London—Fanshawe, the more I discover we have in common. Our area is full of good, hardworking people who want to see their children succeed.
We’re concerned about uncertain economic times and are watching closely the big area employers like GM, 3M and General Dynamics. We believe that the government needs to take a tough approach to crime. And we need improved transportation to help us get where we need to go.
Overall, we believe that our government shouldn’t get in the way of letting us solve our problems for ourselves.
That is the message that I will bring as London—Fanshawe’s voice in Ottawa.
