Info | Judge Greenspan has served on the Court of Common Pleas since April, 1987. She received her B.A. from Smith College and her J.D. magna cum laude from Rutger’s University School of Law where she was an editor of the law review. She clerked for the Honorable Robert N. C. Nix, Jr. from 1973 to 1975. She was an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia for more than ten years, serving as Chief of the Domestic Violence Unit from 1978 to 1980 and Chief of Superior Court Appeals from 1980 to 1986. She was an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School from 1989-1994. Judge Greenspan presently serves on the Supreme Court Appellate Procedural Rules Committee and previously served on the Supreme Court Criminal Procedural Rules Committee and the Supreme Court Orphans Court Procedural Rules Committee. She is a Master of the Bench for the University of Pennsylvania American Inn of Court and is currently the Inn’s President. She has also served as a member of various organizations and task forces including the Attorney General’s Family Violence Task Force, Chair of the Criminal Justice Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and a member of the Education Committee of the State Conference of Trial Judges. Presently she is a member of the Trial Division of the Court where she presides over homicide cases.
