| Info | My name is Bright Pryde and I am the Green Party candidate for the Cypress-Medicine Hat riding in Alberta's 2008 Provincial Election. I am getting bored of sitting on the sidelines watching our government make short-term decisions that do nothing except fuel the oil industry - no pun intended! I am a student and am very interested in social issues as well as issues of sustainable development, development that "meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (Bruntland Commission, 1987). I decided to run for the Green Party of Alberta because I feel that they address the issues of today with the idea of sustainability for the future in mind. I think the party's approach to a more participatory form of governance is appreciable and I hope that the Alberta Greens will win a record number of votes this year. I am extremely excited to represent a party in which my values lie and that takes Albertans best interests to heart.
