InfoGood day,

My name is Gary L. Pelletier and I am running for the Maine State Senate District #35. I would like to share with you a birds eye view of my biography as follows:

I was born in Sinclair, Maine in 1942, son to Leonard Pelletier Sr. and Bertha (Dufour) Pelletier. I had an older brother at the time, and later acquired two more brothers and a sister. Due to my father’s employment as a Game Warden, I spent the first eight years of my life at St. Pamphile and at the Nine Mile Bridge on the St. John River, chronicled by Helen Hamlin.

In 1950, the family moved to St. Francis where I attended my elementary school years, and later graduated from Community High School in Fort Kent in 1961.

During these formative years, my life experiences were basically living on the St. John and Allagash Watersheds. In particular, my siblings and I spent 10 summers at the Dow Warden camp near Cunliffe Depot on the beautiful Allagash River. Little did I realize that these experiences would be the foundation of a career later in life.

In the fall of 1961, I married Linda Perreault of Eagle Lake and we raised a family of four boys and a daughter. They have since blessed Linda and I with 9 wonderful grandchildren.

My employment at the time was working for my father-in-law, Roland Perreault in the lumber business. I also worked for Great Northern Company and International Paper as a scaler and a crew leader until 1966. In 1966 I began a career in Law Enforcement as a Game Warden, following in the footsteps of my father, two uncles and joined by two brothers. I was first assigned to the headwaters of the St. John River in Daquaam, then to the Bangor area at Winterport and finally at Cross Lake, Fish River chain. My illustrious career lasted for thirty years, having retired in 1996.

Since my retirement, I have established a small business in carpentry, specializing in restoration of log camps and shoreline retaining walls. I have also participated in many civic, professional, and service oriented organizations as listed in my profile. I am looking forward to serving you in the Senate District #35 representing your concerns with pride and integrity.
