| Info | Former City-County Councilman Ron Gibson, a native of Indianapolis, was elected as an at-large member of the City-County Council, which is the legislative body for the City of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana from January 2000 to December 2007. He is a product of a single parent household and a very poverty-stricken environment. His mother died when he was 16 years old. Despite the death of his mother, he went on to graduate from Arsenal Technical High School (Indianapolis Public School). At the age of 18, he joined the U.S. Navy where he received an honorable discharge. Thereafter, he attended college where he received degrees in Business Administration and Management with honors. In addition, he earned a Master of Science in Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is the former president of the Indiana Charter Schools Association. Currently, he runs his own consultant business. Councilman Gibson, a single parent, resides on the eastside of Indianapolis with his foster son, Martez. Martez is 16 years old.
