Mitchell; reelected to the Sixty-third and Sixty-fourth Congresses and served from November 7, 1911, to March 3, 1917; unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1916 to the Sixty-fifth Congress; served as captain in the Quartermaster Corps of the United States Army during the First World War; resumed the practice of law in Kansas City, Kans.; appointed judge of the Kansas Court of Industrial Relations in 1924; died in Wadsworth, Kans., on December 3, 1938; interment in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, Kans.
