Info | Gail Brown was raised in Chariton County, Missouri at Mendon and has been actively involved with the community his entire life. Upon graduation for Northwestern High School in 1961, Gail attended Moler Barber College in Kansas City and the returned to Mendon to open Gail's Barber Shop in 1963.
In addition to being the barber for the community, Gail operated the family farm, raising hogs, cattle and grain, until the late 1980's. At that time, Gail became active in the ministry and presently serves as pastor for the Mendon, Triplett and Brunswick Christian Churches.
In 1990, Gail was elected Chariton County Commissioner for the Western District and has continuously served in that capacity for nearly 18 years. Gail has always been interested in government service at the state level and has participated in an unofficial capacity at every opportunity.
In 1962, Gail married Peggy Moore and they are the parents of two children, Robin and Chris. Peggy and daughter, Robin, own and operate a dry cleaning business in Brookfield. Robin is a member of Operator's Union No. 101. Gail's son, Chris, went into law enforcement and is currently Director of the North Missouri Drug Task Force. Gail and Peggy have six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Gail is a member of Warren Lodge #74 AF &* AM, Keytesville, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbia; Ararat Shrine, Tri-County Shrine Club, Coon Creek Shrine Club; Optimist Club; National Rifle Association and Quail Unlimited.
