InfoI've continued to be active – both in school and within the community. I majored in Accounting and International Business Management for my undergraduate degree. I then moved into public accounting at Guam Community College in 1990, since I wanted to return to applying my skills in the workplace. I became the budget officer of the college within five years, then left in to pursue my graduate studies.

I returned to Guam with a M.Ed. in Work, Community, and Family Education, and now am working on my Ph.D. in Work & Human Resource Education. I served as an Associate Dean and co-chaired the Accreditation Liaison Officer at GCC. While at the college, I also developed the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) that facilitates improvement in student learning while serving the community. The CCE linked the college to community-based organizations to reach mutually beneficial goals. In 2006, I stepped down from GCC to focus on my doctorate studies.

Over the years I ...
* Continuously collaborated with public leaders in education legislation or with agencies on education projects while an Associate Dean at Guam Community College.
* Served as vice-chair of the Guam Public Library System Board, and successfully directed the reinstatement of federal funding to support technological and administrative improvements of out public libraries.
* Annually returned to Guam to help in special work-based education projects with Guam Community College and other local agencies while a full-time student in Minnesota.
* Volunteered to develop a new youth program at my local church while in Minnesota.
* Served as the Minnesota Pacific Islander representative for the State Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans (appointed by Gov. Jesse Ventura).
* Received two awards from the University of Minnesota: I was the first recipient of the Mary A. McEvoy Award for Public Engagement and Leadership; and also won the President Student Leadership and Service Award
* Helped establish the Center for Civic Engagement on Guam, which links college learning to community service needs.
* Continue to be an active member of the local Filipino organization: Batangas and Southern Tagalog Association of Guam
