| Info | Marti Emerald has spent the last 26 years in San Diego building bridges and mending fences as a consumer advocate. She has been a team builder and an agent of change as television’s Trouble Shooter. She has exposed fraud, influenced public policy and educated consumers. Marti has also supported a multitude of community causes and helped to raise millions of dollars for charity.
Marti’s broadcast career began in 1978, in Washington, D.C., as a freelance reporter for the Associated Press Radio Network. She moved on to radio news in Portland, Oregon, Los Angeles and San Diego, where she was a reporter and anchor for KSDO.
Marti began work at 10News in 1985. She jumped right in, exposing scams and protecting consumers as the Troubleshooter and investigative reporter. A strong communicator and administrator, Marti Emerald is respected and trusted as an advocate and journalist. She is one of San Diego’s most visible broadcasters and has deep ties in many reaches of this community. Most importantly Marti is true to her mission to inform and protect consumers. This dedication has earned Marti more than 100 awards for community service and excellence in journalism.
Marti graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from National University, taking night classes after work. She was honored as Alumnus of the Year in 2005 because of her many contributions and leadership in the San Diego region.
Marti is a wife and mother and has lived in Tierrasanta since 1989.
Marti Emerald has earned an impressive list of honors recognizing her long career as the 10News Trouble Shooter and investigative journalist and her many years serving the people of San Diego.
