| Info | Matt Taubenberger was born and raised in the Burholme section of Northeast Philadelphia. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1995 where he played football and ran track. He earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Widener University in 1999.
Matt and his wife Rachel live in the same house in Burholme that was once Matt's grandparents' delicatessen back when they first arrived in the United States as immigrants from Germany in 1930.
After graduating from college, Matt began working with local law enforcement as a Juvenile Probation Officer -- where he was responsible for monitoring violent juvenile offenders within the criminal justice system.
Combining his criminal justice experience and background in law enforcement, Matt began working with local state Representative George Kenney -- where he served as Director of Constituent Services -- helping people solve problems and concentrating on local crime and law enforcement related issues.
Matt is the son of former Philadelphia mayoral candidate - Al Taubenberger. He is active in the community - serving on the 7th and 8th Police District Advisory Councils, in addition to serving on the board of the Burholme Town Watch where he is an active "Town Watch Patroller." Matt has also worked closely with a number of other local civic and town watch groups to help improve the quality of life in Northeast Philadelphia including these groups: Burholme Civic, Bustleton Civic, Fox Chase Home Owners Association, Lawncrest Civic, Normandy Civic, Parkwood Civic and Somerton Civic.
