My name is Jeff Hayden. I’m asking for your support in my campaign for the Minnesota State House District 61B.
I am deeply committed to improving the neighborhoods of Senate District 61B and will be a strong advocate for this community at the State Capitol. I am a homeowner in the Bryant neighborhood where I live with my wife Terri and our two children. My family has deep roots in the district and in public service.
I have experience working to address the challenges facing our community. Currently I work as a housing advocate with the Hearth Connection, a Minneapolis-based organization that seeks to end homelessness across Minnesota. My past work with Hennepin County and as an Aide to Minneapolis Council member Gary Schiff (9th ward) gives me a strong foundation of knowledge and relationships to be your voice at the State Legislature.
I’m running for the Minnesota State House because I want to provide more affordable housing, jumpstart economic development, strengthen education and expand transportation that supports our environment. The people of District 61B deserve a progressive, smart, and visible leader, and I would be honored to serve you at the State Capitol.
My volunteer experience allows me to bring a deep understanding of neighborhood concerns to the State Capitol. I am a board member of the Community Action Council and the Minneapolis Chapter of MAD DADS. I have been on the board of Directors for the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association and Bryant Neighborhood Association. I am also a founding member of the City of Lakes Community Land Trust.
