Info | FORWARD, Chauncey, (brother of Walter Forward), a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Old Granby, Conn., February 4, 1793; moved with his father to Ohio in 1800, and a short time afterward to Greensburg, Pa.; pursued classical studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1817 and began practice in Somerset, Pa.; member of the State house of representatives 1820-1822; elected to the Nineteenth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Alexander Thomson; reelected to the Twentieth Congress and reelected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress and served from December 4, 1826, to March 3, 1831; appointed prothonotary and recorder of Somerset County in 1831; died in Somerset, Somerset County, Pa., October 19, 1839; interment in Aukeny Square Cemetery.
