Vinson; reelected to the Seventy-sixth and to the six succeeding Congresses and served from June 4, 1938, to January 3, 1953; unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1952, and was unsuccessful for the Democratic nomination in 1956 for the United States Senate; engaged in the practice of law and was a resident of Greenup, Ky.; died in Ashland, Ky., September 10, 1965; interment in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Ky.
