On June 27, 2005, Secretary Alphonso Jackson appointed Guy Ciarrocchi as HUD’s Regional Director, for the region consisting of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Guy is based in HUD’s Regional Office in Philadelphia.
During 2004, he managed the President’s re-election campaign in Pennsylvania, serving as Executive Director of Bush-Cheney ’04, Inc. (PA).
From 1996 until 2004, Guy served as the Director of Public Affairs for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In that position, he was the primary government and community affairs advisor to the Cardinal-Archbishop of the Philadelphia Archdiocese, which serves nearly 1.5 million Catholics in Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs. Additionally, he was the primary representative to federal, state and local officials on behalf of the Archdiocese, which educates over 110,000 students and is the largest provider of social services in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining the Archdiocese, Guy was Chief of Staff and Counsel to then-State Senator (now Congresswoman) Melissa Hart. As such, he served as her chief aide and Counsel to the Senate Finance Committee, which Senator Hart chaired.
After graduating from Villanova Law School in 1990, Guy was appointed as a Deputy Attorney General for Pennsylvania working in the Criminal Appeals section.
Guy has been active in numerous community and volunteer programs including serving as a township supervisor and coaching little league softball and baseball, as well as soccer. Guy and his wife, Christine, have three children and reside in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Ciarrocchi was born and raised in South Philadelphia. He ran unsuccessfully for the state Legislature in 1992 in the 185th Representative District against State Rep. Robert Donatucci.
