| Info | John Hughes was born in North Fremantle and has lived in the Mandurah region for 23 years.
John’s diverse employment history includes time spent as a Research Officer for the Members for Mandurah and the South West. Previous to this, John was employed for many years by the Peel Health Service. He is also an experienced forklift driver and factory worker.
John has a strong commitment to the community, which he serves both in his capacity as Councillor for the City of Mandurah and his involvement in many committees. He has been a Board Member of the Halls Head Community Bank/Bendigo Bank, Peel Youth Program, Peel Community living and the Inaugural Chairman of WestAust Crisis Centre.
John joined the ALP in 1995, stood as the ALP Candidate for the State seat of Dawesville in 1996 and 2001, provided support during the campaign for the seats of Mandurah and Murray-Wellington in 1996 & 2001 and has served as an ALP branch office bearer in various capacities over several years.
