InfoLucky graduated from local public schools in Hampton Roads. He attended Tabb High School and also Christopher Newport University where he studied Political Science.

He was trained by the esteemed Dr. Quentin Kidd. During his undergraduate studies, Professor Kidd personally selected Lucky to attend a program dedicated to coaching Virginia's most promising future leaders. The program is now part of the Sorensen Institute For Political Leadership.

In addition to attending public schools in Virginia, Lucky pursued graduate studies in Law at Fordham University Law School and Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University.

Lucky is an Army Reservist and is committed to ensuring the military is well funded and that our soldiers are well trained and well equipped. Before he was a soldier, Lucky was Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic. There he was assigned to a small town near the border of Haiti to teach English and computer skills. This experience shaped Lucky's perspective on the role of teachers in our society. He feels that they are part of the family - especially since they care for our children during most of the day. Lucky believes that we must include teachers into the conversation when we engage in discussion about family.

His roots are humble. Lucky's father, Perry, is a U.S. Air Force veteran with over 21 years in active duty service. Perry currently works for the Newport News Shipyard. His mother, Ronnie, is a hair-dresser.
