McGranery and served from January 18, 1944, to January 3, 1945; unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1944 to the Seventy-ninth Congress; resumed his former business pursuits in Philadelphia, Pa.; received the Republican nomination for State senator in the second senatorial district of Pennsylvania in 1946; died in Washington, D.C., on July 19, 1946, while on a business trip; interment in Arlington Cemetery, Upper Darby, Pa.
