InfoAnthony (Tony) D., passed away on December 4, 2009. A long time resident of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, Tony lived with his wife of 47 years Colleen Gill Andora.Son of the late Tessie and Anthony A. Andora, Tony was born on November 20, 1930. He practiced law for more than 50 years, most recently as a partner with the law firm Andora & Romano in Paramus, NJ. Tony's love for the law led him to serve as an active member of the American Bar Association, a past Trustee of the New Jersey Bar Association and former President of the Bergen County Bar Association. Earlier in his career, he was an Assistant County Prosecutor in Bergen County and Deputy Attorney General of New Jersey. Tony served honorably as an attorney in the Judge Advocate General's Office in the United States Army in the 1950's.In 1966, he became Co-Chairman and member of the Reapportionment Commission for the State of NJ and a member of the Constitutional Convention. He was President of the Bergen County Young Democrats and later became President of the NJ State Young Democrats. Tony went on to become Chairman of the Bergen County Democratic Organization.In 1969, Tony founded Interchange Bank and served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2007 when the bank was acquired by TD Bank North. He further helped organize Home State Bank, the Jersey Bank for Savings and Metropolitan State Bank.Tony's involvement with the community extended beyond his professional career. He was President of the Board of Directors at Bergen Community College and he served as President of the Bergen County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He maintained a strong commitment to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center and was a member of the Board of Trustees at the Hospital. He was also former President of the Board of Directors of the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation.Hiking, camping, skiing and tennis were among the many activities that he shared with his family. In 2007, Tony completed the Northern section on the Appalachian Trail. As recently as July 2009, he hiked with his children in Peru and was a matriculated graduate student at Columbia University. He was three courses away from obtaining his Masters in American Studies.Tony is survived by his wife, Colleen Andora of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, his daughter Melissa Muilenburg and her husband, Bob of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, his daughter Suzanne Barron and her husband, Richard of Glen Rock, New Jersey, his daughter, Elizabeth Andora and her husband, Chris Nichols of Boulder, CO, his son Anthony of Denver, CO, and his daughter Camille Galin and her husband, Ross of Pleasantville, New York. He is pre-deceased by his grandson, Christopher Barron and is survived by his grandchildren, Matthew, Corrine and Jake Muilenburg, Ryan Barron, Camille and Megan Nichols, and Molly, Jordan and Trevor Galin. He is also survived by his sister Joan Sagui and her husband Edward of Las Vegas, Nevada.
