| Info | Cecile grew up in Markham, Ontario and has spent most of her life in the greater Toronto area, residing in Ajax-Pickering for 16 years. She has five children and step-children ranging in age from 14 to adult. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in Civil Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Cecile holds a senior position at a large, Canadian-based firm of environmental engineers and scientists . She has many years of experience in financial and business management. She has worked closely for 22 years with government, the public and private sector to promote sustainable development. She works to redevelop former industrial sites in a manner that is protective of health and environment.
Cecile is a dedicated volunteer with the Ontario Environmental Industry Association; she co-chairs the Association’s Brownfield Committee; and, she is an active participant of the Association’s Advocacy Committee, advocating industry and environmental interests with Ontario MPPs, their staff and other government representatives. Previous appointments include serving on a municipal environmental advisory committee.
Local community and youth and family organizations have always been a strong focus for Cecile. She actively supports several local youth and charitable organizations and has served as a leader in local Girl Guides and Scouts Canada groups and volunteered in area schools. She has served on the executive of several family oriented community and charitable organizations, serving on committees, teaching and coaching youth and assisting single parents.
Cecile has many years of experience in financial and business management including managing staff, budgets and schedules. She previously ran her own engineering practice and has gained strong business skills, recognized by the senior position she holds. Cecile recognizes the importance of these skills combined with a strong understanding of local and societal issues. She is dedicated to the principals of sustainable development in cooperation with industry and improving quality of life and health through better education, health care and protection from toxic chemicals and hazards in our everyday lives.
