Info | Information Technology Manager
Member, Washinton County Democratic Central Committee.
Robin Deibert was born and raised in Washington County, MD.
Entering the military during her senior year of high school, Robin went on to serve in the US Army as a communications specialist. Spending most of her time "traveling the world" (a.k.a. Fort Benning, GA) assigned to a Combat Heavy Engineer unit. Robin earned the respect of her chain of command by working hard and following orders. At the time of her Honorable Discharge, she had attained the rank of E-5 (Sergeant) in charge of her own communications squad.
Upon leaving the military, Robin searched for another way to expand her mind while serving the community. Entering college in the early 90's, she paid her way through college by working for companies like UPS and RPS, who offered early morning hours that did not interfere with school. She went on to graduate from a small Radiologic technologist program (X-ray technician) in 1995.
Shortly after graduation, Robin and her partner traveled across the country looking for job opportunities and experiencing first hand just how beautiful this great country is. Meeting up with friends in Palm Springs, CA, and finding job opportunities immediately, Robin and Lynn settled there for 3 years.
During this time, the information age was really taking off and Robin began building computers as a hobby. This hobby led to a job opportunity in Houston, TX, so the decision was made to "go for it". Once again, using a "work hard" ethic, Robin went from helpdesk technician to a Business Systems Analyst and again, has earned the respect of her peers.
In the background of all these events, Robin became an activist. Standing up for soldiers' rights, women's rights, gay rights and the environment to name a few. Robin has signed petitions, marched on Washington (numerous times), talked with Representatives and Senators and attended many functions in support of various causes.
