| Info | Attorney Lupas was born and raised in Plains Township and graduated from James M. Coughlin High School in 1982. He attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. and graduated in 1986 with a major in Economics. Attorney Lupas attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and graduated Cum Laude in 1989, earning his Juris Doctor degree.
After successfully passing the Pennsylvania Bar Exam, he has been a practicing attorney since 1989. He maintained a private practice with offices in West Pittston and Wilkes-Barre. Additionally, Attorney Lupas served as Solicitor for Plains Township from 1994 through 1999. He served in the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney from 1992 through 1999. Attorney Lupas was elected District Attorney of Luzerne County and took office January 3, 2000. He started his second term as District Attorney on January 5, 2004.
Attorney Lupas served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association and belongs to the Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Association.
Among the many organizations of which he is affiliated, Attorney Lupas has been a Board Member, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, of the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center (CYC), is a member and past president of the Plains Rotary Club, has been a long time member of the Crime Clinic of Greater Wyoming Valley, is a member of the Wilkes-Barre Chapter of UNICO, was a founding board member of the Northeast Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children (POMC) and currently serves as a coach in the Plains Little League Baseball Organization. Attorney Lupas is a member of St. Maria Goretti Church in Laflin.
Attorney Lupas currently resides in Laflin with his wife, the former Cheryl Corcoran, their two (2) sons, Kyle and Jacob, and their two (2) daughters, Abigail and Gwyneth.
