Info | John Anson Ford, a Los Angeles County Supervisor and Democratic Party activist, died Thursday at Midway Hospital.
He was 100 years old.
Mr. Ford supported such cultural projects as restoration of the Hollywood Bowl and construction of the downtown Music Center.
He was was elected to the five-member governing board of Los Angeles County in 1934, 1938, 1942, 1946, 1950, and 1954.
He was a member of the state Democratic Central Committee in the 1940's and 1950's and in 1960 he was chairman of the Southern California Citizens for Kennedy Committee.
Mr. Ford, born in Waukegan, Ill., worked in advertising and public relations before entering politics.
