Info | Marjorie Ruth Moon was born in Pocatello, Idaho. She attended and graduated from Pocatello High School as valedictorian of her class and went on to attend Pacific University and receive a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Washington. Treasurer Moon was a reporter for the Pocatello Tribune, Caldwell News Tribune, and Boise bureau chief for the Deseret News. She purchased the Idaho Pioneer Statewide in Boise and founded the Garden City Gazette, Boise Gazette, and Eagle Enterprise. She was also a partner in Modern Press Printing Plant and the Sawtooth Lodge, later selling her interests in all of these businesses. Treasurer Moon was elected State Treasurer in 1962 and re-elected in 1966, 1970, 1974, 1978, and 1982.
