Info | About Mike
As a physician who cares for the elderly and poor, I know what caring is about. I care for you, the citizens of Arizona! I am asking for your support to help me become your next Governor.
The decision to become a candidate is based on a belief that we must put people first. I am not a politician. I have watched as current and past leaders of our State have neglected to invest in the citizens of Arizona. Their leadership has failed in many areas including: Education, Healthcare, and prudent Economic Policies. This affects every resident of Arizona. My goal as your next Governor and your public servant will be to protect the interests of all Arizonans.
My parents were born into poverty. Although lacking in material wealth, they shared a deep commitment to family and a common belief in the decency and potential that all people possess. They continue to be hard working, lifelong railroad workers. They sacrificed their lives for the betterment of their children. Their efforts allowed me the opportunity to be the first in my family to go to college to and get a degree. In addition, I then went on to become the first doctor in my family. Education was my great liberator. Education opened new horizons and made me believe that all things are possible. I believe that all people can improve if given an opportunity. My parents' belief that the future can always be better is deeply woven into the fabric of my being. As your Governor, I will strive to help you, your children, and your family succeed, and enjoy a better future.
Today people are working longer, and in real terms, are making less money. Many parents are struggling to make ends meet as families are increasingly fragmented. Our children are turning to drugs, suicide and violence at school. Every day women, minorities, the elderly, and the working class face discrimination. We have lost sight of common human decency and compassion. It's time now to begin investing in people.
