Info | John Knaack is a life-long resident of Moline. He is currently in his first term as alderman representing Ward 1. Alderman Knaack was elected to the City Council in 2007, and his current term will expire on May 1, 2011.
Alderman Knaack actively supports strengthening our neighborhoods, particularly our older neighborhoods, and the downtown, focusing on expanding the tax base through the retention of existing businesses and attraction of new companies to our city.
Alderman Knaack is a graduate of Moline High School, Black hawk College and Scott Community College Apprentice Class for Pattern Making. He is the owner of General Pattern Corporation in Moline. He is a past member of the Moline Second Alarmers, and past board member of the Pattern Makers Federal Credit Union.
In his free time, Alderman Knaack enjoys building hot rods and furniture, and working in his yard and rock garden. He and his wife Trudy have two children and one grandson.
