"I was born a “Navy-brat” in Portsmouth, VA, and soon after, moved to Lancaster County. My father then began his law enforcement career with Millersville Borough Police. He then moved on to the East Hempfield Township Police for fifteen years, before taking a supervisory special agent position with the Pennsylvania State Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigations. My mother stayed at home to raise seven children (I’m the oldest), before beginning her career as a math teacher at Saint Anne’s School. I grew up, and my parents still reside, in Manheim Township, by Lancaster Airport.

I graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School and Millersville University. During my athletic career, I became a state and national heavyweight wrestling champion, as well as a two-time All-American football player. I continued my football career, after my senior year at Millersville, by attending free-agent mini-camp with the New York Giants, but ended up playing in the Arena Football League. A back injury ended my career, and that is when I first entered into County government full-time, and have been, for the last eleven years, giving me 13 years of County Government experience.

I started as a Youth Care Worker at the old Barnes Hall Juvenile Detention Center, and soon after became a supervisor. I then held an administrative position at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center and eventually became Director of this complex County Department. I currently oversee about 150 employees and operate two 5.5 million dollar budgets, one State fiscal year and one County calendar year.

Professionally, I am also a contracted security specialist through a company called Behavioral Interventions, Inc. I am contracted to protect the lives of probation officers in the field and help enforce the house arrest program. I have also owned and operated three rental units in Lancaster for almost 8 years.

I currently am elected as the Vice President of the Juvenile Detention Centers Association of Pennsylvania and serve as a member of the Detention Steering Committee of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Through these groups, I’m able to work with my colleagues across the Commonwealth for funding restoration, regulatory issues and other issues affecting our industry and our counties.

I serve on numerous boards and associations in our community. They include: Lancaster County Chiefs of Police Association, Lancaster County Criminal Justice Advisory Board, Gene A, Carpenter Football Foundation and Salud Hispana. I have served as the Chair of the County’s Special Projects Committee, and served on the Children & Youth Multi-Disciplinary Team. I am a 6-year campaign and tricycle race coordinator veteran for the United Way of Lancaster County, and currently serve on the United Way Campaign Cabinet. In addition, I’ve been a licensed real estate agent for 10 years, which I mainly use for investment properties.

I hold membership in the Lancaster Farmland Trust, the USO and the National Rifle Association.

My wife is an Adult Probation Officer for the County of Lancaster, but since she is an officer of the court, she is not permitted to be active in my campaign. We currently reside in West Lampeter Township.

My political experience includes being a member of the Republican Committee of Lancaster County, Co-Chair of Santorum 2006, Chair of Dennis Stuckey for County Controller, GOP Finance Committee, GOP Lincoln Club member, Lancaster County Young Republicans, National Republican Senatorial/ Congressional Committees member, Republican National Committee member, Bush Cheney 2004 Campaign Team, and member and Chair of the Voter Registration Committee."
