Jason ("Super J") was quite a unique individual, and he will always be missed.
Steven LeBoeuf was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana (a city 45 miles southwest of New Orleans). After settling in North Carolina to pursue doctoral research at NCSU, LeBoeuf soon became an active member of the Libertarian Party of NC.
Eager to promote the libertarian principles of individual liberty, private property, and free markets, LeBoeuf soon became a Staff Columnist for Technician, the campus newspaper at NCSU. LeBoeuf has published over four dozen columns and now serves as the principal medium for libertarian insight at North Carolina State University. LeBoeuf is also an active spokesman for individual freedom throughout North Carolina: "Yes, I may be a bit blunt, but I'm never afraid to speak my mind. With me, what you see is what you get, and what you hear is what I truly think."
LeBoeuf's chief legislative goal is to establish principle before politics: "We subscribe to a government to help protect our rights and freedoms -- not to tell us how to run our business, raise our children, and spend our leisure time. Politicians warm us with their smiles and clichs, claiming that if we give them more power then they'll take care of us. But as we give them more authority, we gradually become their 'contented' serfs. All too often we are willing to sacrifice our precious liberty for the sake of a little extra security, and all too often we get neither." LeBoeuf also seeks to remove all laws that prevent North Carolinians from living their lives in any peaceful manner they see fit.
Currently working as a research assistant, tutor, columnist, and cartoonist, LeBoeuf has no interest in becoming a "career politician." Rather, LeBoeuf hopes to earn a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering by the end of the year and eventually pursue a career in research & development within North Carolina.
