Info | Jim Kerr served as a Rock Island City Alderman from the 1st Ward from 1985-1989. Won the nomination for Mayor in the February 1989 primary coming second place in the running but lost the General Election pulling 28% of the vote.
His campaign slogan as he ran for Mayor was "I will be known as the Mayor who brought Rock Island back."
He currently serves as a Democratic Precinct Committeeman for Rock Island 1-1 and was elected as a Trustee in the Rock Island Township in April of 2005.
He is also the past Chairman for the Rock Island Community Caring Conference, U.S. Air Force Veteran, and ran for a State Delegate to the 1988 Democratic Presidential Convention for Jesse L. Jackson.
