| Info | A lifelong Hoosier, Jim Schellinger was raised the sixth of eight children in one of South Bend's working-class neighborhoods. His father was a quality control engineer at Bendix Corporation while his mother stayed home and cared for the family.
Following in his brothers' footsteps, Jim played football at St. Joseph's High School (they all wore No. 50). After graduation, he attended Notre Dame where he worked nights and summers at Capitol Tool and Die to pay for his education. Jim graduated with a degree in architecture.
Successful Architect
Jim landed one of his first jobs at Indianapolis architecture firm, CSO Architects, in 1986 and within ten years became the company’s president. During his tenure, CSO has embarked on some landmark projects, reviving and bringing good jobs to our communities. The firm specializes in the following areas:

•K-12 Education
•Corporate commercial
•Higher Education
CSO employs over 100 Hoosiers and was named one of The Indianapolis Star’s Top 5 companies to work for. Jim was also appointed by Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson to serve on the Capital Improvement Board.
Active Democrat and Endorsed by Key Democratic Leaders and Unions
For years, Jim Schellinger has been a strong supporter of the Indiana Democratic Party and key leaders like Senator Evan Bayh, Governor Frank O’Bannon, Governor Joe Kernan, former Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson and the late Congresswoman Julia Carson. Jim is endorsed for Governor by former Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson, the late Congresswoman Julia Carson, Former House Democratic Speaker John Gregg and by the UAW. Jim is the Democratic candidate who can beat Governor Daniels and put our state on the right track once again.
About Jim and Laura Schellinger
Jim and his wife Laura make their home in Indianapolis with their three sons, Nick, John and Zack. Jim has coached all three sons in Little League. Laura was trained and worked as a commercial interior designer and space planner, and now works in business development for CSO Architects.
