Info | Darrell Eddy Jordan
Darrell comes by his civic-mindedness honestly. His family moved from Minnesota to the Rio Grande Valley in the 1940s. Darrell's father opened the area's first YMCA and resisted segregation pressure from community leaders. His mother ran a kindergarten and preschool that accepted children in need at no charge.
Darrell has practiced law in Dallas for more than 35 years. While building his successful career and raising three children with his wife, Ann, he dedicated countless hours to civic causes.
As president-elect of the Dallas Bar Association, Darrell headed the Minority Participation Committee, which created a scholarship for highly qualified minority law students at SMU Dedman School of Law. That scholarship has become the highly successful and prestigious Sarah T. Hughes Diversity scholarship.
Whether arguing before the Supreme Court in favor of IOLTA – an interest-bearing trust fund used to pay legal fees of Texas' poorest defendants – or tirelessly campaigning to dome the Cotton Bowl in the 1990s, Darrell offers himself, his knowledge, his experience to make Dallas a better place for all.
