| Info | Joyce Savoline is currently the MPP for Burlington. She was elected to the Ontario Legislature in the 2007 by-election.
Joyce has an extensive background in politics and community service that has provided her with a real understanding of her community and its need for a strong representative at Queen's Park.
She is a community leader who has been in public life since 1982. Joyce was first elected as a local and regional councillor in Burlington in 1982, a post she held for four terms. She served as the Chairman of Halton Region for 12 years, first appointed in 1994 and again in 1997. She became the first elected Chairman in 2000 and was re-elected in 2003.
Joyce has been a member of many boards and committees. She has served as: Director of the GO Transit Board; a member of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario; Chair of the Halton Budget Committee; Chair of the Halton Comprehensive Housing Strategy; and Chair of the Accessibility Advisory Committee. She also initiated the Halton Youth Advisory Committee.
Joyce and her husband, Ron, have lived in Burlington since 1973, where they raised their two children, Robb and Natasha.
